David's areas of specialty include complex commercial litigation, fraud, and securities litigation. He has acted on some of the largest fraud claims in Ontario and has extensive experience managing complex litigation involving large volumes of documentary disclosure and multiple parties. David takes a long range, strategic approach to litigation, and has a proven track record of obtaining results for his clients. David appears regularly before the Superior Court and Court of Appeal for Ontario. He is a dedicated advocate who is committed to the highest standards of ethics, expertise and client service in his practice.
David has extensive overseas business experience and brings solid business judgment to his clients' litigation matters. David articled at a major Bay Street law firm.
David volunteers in the community on a weekly basis. From 2006-2008, he volunteered at the Salvation Army at its Maxwell Meighan shelter and with its Criminal and Justice Services, where he founded a legal clinic to assist homeless and low income individuals. Since 2008, David has volunteered with Pro Bono Law Ontario at its Law Help clinic at the Court House, 393 University Avenue, in Toronto. In addition to his work at Law Help, David regularly acts as duty counsel at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where he assists the Court by providing advice and representation to self-represented litigants in motions and appeals before the Court.
David graduated with a First Class Honours B.A. in History and Political Science from McGill University, and obtained degrees with Great Distinction in Civil law and Common law, also from McGill University. He placed second overall in Canada in the country's largest advocacy competition, the Phillip. C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. David is currently completing a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution, where he is focusing his research on class action litigation.
